Youth Sailing’s regattas, instructor and coach certifications and development programs help youth become skilled, successful sailors. We offer resources to support clubs, organizations, parents, volunteers, and other stakeholders at the local, regional, and national levels. Whether you’re new to the sport or a seasoned sailor we’re here to help all types of sailors enjoy the sport, improve their skills, and become sailors for life. .
Summer Sailing School
RYMCEC Yacht Club Sailing School runs an extensive summer sailing program from mid-June to mid-August. Courses provide the opportunity for participants to develop the skills and confidence necessary to enjoy the sport of sailing. RMYCEC has grown to include nearly 200 active colleges, and racing occurs every weekend during the fall and spring seasons and on many weekends during the winter. It is a truly coeducational sport, and it has proved itself the best incubator for the development of racing skills.
High School Program
RMYCEC Yacht Club is proud to host one of the largest high school sailing programs in the Chennai district. Between the Sailing School’s facilities and its full and part-time coaches, the program has been able to grow to over 75 sailors. High school sailing, numbering over 500 sailing programs nationwide, is one of the fastest growing segments of the sport. Governed by the Interscholastic Sailing Association (ISSA). The Fall Season begins in Late August and continues through mid-November; the Spring Season starts in the beginning of March and runs through May. The program consists of 6 established high school teams.
